Warm days have ended in Canada and the cold weather alerts keep increasing. If you’re anything like myself, you’re looking for an escape plan and a sunny destination where you can lounge on the beach and sip cold drinks sounds perfect! These top 3 cheap vacations to take in February fit the ask, and they’re just a plane ride away!
Tips for Traveling in February
- A number of colleges and universities have ‘Reading Week’ in February, so if you’re looking to avoid big crowds of students, avoid dates between February 15th and February 28th.
- Look to book at an adult only resort and you might want to avoid all-inclusive resorts if you don’t want to be around a lot of students while on vacation. You’ll pay a little extra for an adult only or high star rating resort but it might be worth it for a little peace and quiet.
- Most airlines charge a check bag fee – $25 for the first and $35 for the second, so try packing light and take advantage of the free your carry-on policy. This will help make your travel a little smoother and worry-free. Extra: You won’t ever have to deal with lost luggage when you carry-on. Extra: By only travelling with a carry-on you’ll get through airport check-in faster.
- Tuesdays are typically the cheapest days to fly while Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are usually the most expensive. If your schedule is flexible make sure to book your flight on a Tuesday.
