Powerhouse Smoothie

I’m big on clean eating, but when I don’t have time to make anything first thing in the morning I rely on protein powders.

Enter: Sun Warrior. I heard of this brand a while ago but just recently decide to try it as I know its primarily rice protein powder.

The Vanilla Warrior Blend was what I dove into as it usually seems to be my favourite flavour when it comes to protein powders overall. For us, non-athletes :), this protein powder gives you energy for the day, it keeps you full, and balances blood sugar. The best part is its sugar-free!

Building your smoothie

Once you’ve got your protein base it’s time to increase the nutrient factor.

I recommend that smoothies be equal portions of greens and fruit to maximize nutrients. If you’re a green drinker like myself, you can add more greens than fruits. My favorite smoothie is actually made up of spinach, parsley and kale.  For fruit, add in your favourites — most fruits work, but my favourites are strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries for their major antioxidant potential. If I’m drinking this before a workout I’ll throw in a banana to the mix. Now we can’t forget the healthy fats, these will add energy and stabilize the blood sugar, my favourite fats to use are almond butter and coconut oil. Smooties, when made correctly can fill you up real quickly and the reason why some people may feel hungry shortly after drinking a smoothie for breakfast is due to the fact they don’t have enough healthy fat and protein in their blended drink!

Powerhouse Smoothie

1 cup spinach
Small handful of blueberries and blackberries
4-5 Strawberries
1 mall banana
1/2 cup of kale
1 scoop Sunwarrior Warrior Blend
1 tbsp raw organic coconut oil
1 tbsp raw almond butter
1 tsp chia seeds

Importance of regular workouts and exercises

Regular workouts and exercises can improve not only your health, but also your lifestyle. Exercise can boost your energy and you would feel better. Exercises and workouts can also enhance your longevity. The tremendous health benefits of workouts, exercises and physical activities are impossible to ignore. Even if it’s not possible for you to exercise daily, you should at least exercise or indulge in physical activities 4 times a week.

Let’s look at the important benefits of regular workouts and exercises:

After a stressful day, a good workout at the gym can lift up your mood instantly. If you are unable to do a workout, then you can go for brisk walking. Physical activity stimulates certain chemicals in the brain that would make you feel happy. Thus, exercise plays the role of a mood healer. You would also feel confident about your appearance when you exercise.
  1. Regular exercise can boost energy: Regular physical activity can boost your energy and improve the strength of your muscles. This is because exercise delivers nutrients and oxygen to the cells and tissues of your body. This results in the lungs and heart to work efficiently.
  1. Exercise promotes good sleep: In today’s world, when half of the population is insomniac, regular exercise can help you to sleep better. However, you should not exercise before bedtime as it will keep you too energized all night.

After studying the important health benefits of regular workouts and exercises, you must merge them into your daily schedule. Even if you are busy, take out some time for brisk walking at least. You must indulge in physical activities at least 4 times a week. A sedentary lifestyle is not a healthy lifestyle. Get up, go outside, breathe in and exercise for a good life.
